La Paz is a coastal city on the eastern side of the Baja California Peninsula along the Sea of Cortez. Known for its calm waterfront, warm climate, and relaxed atmosphere, it serves as the capital of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. It has beautiful beaches, marine life, and outdoor activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and boat tours to nearby islands like Espíritu Santo Island, a protected natural area famous for clear waters and sea lion colonies. The city blends traditional Mexican culture with a laid-back seaside lifestyle.

The Sea of Cortez is well-known for its sea lion colonies. Join us to experience the magic of diving with these special animals! In addition to sea lions, the Sea of Cortez dive sites host an abundance of marine life. Many sites lie around the protected islands of Espíritu Santo Island and Isla Partida often called part of the "aquarium of the world".

Dive profiles range from 20-60ft and 70-100ft. There is one possible dive site on a wreck that sits at 70ft.

We will have five days of 3-tank boat dives, with one bonfire style mobula ray night dive.

Minimum diving experience: As the diving here is unique with opportunities to dive with sea lions, and mobula rays, each diver must have a minimum of 25 logged dives and feel comfortable diving with wildlife at close proximity.

You should plan to fly into La Paz (LAP) on Saturday October, 17th. You can fly home at any time on Saturday October, 24th. Please email or call the shop before booking your flight!

Upon cancellation of a reservation for any reason, the refund of the deposit and payments made will be contingent upon American Dive Zone reselling the participant's reservation. Any refund will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee and payment of any non-refundable fees imposed by the tour company, dive operator, or any other contractor associated with the trip. No refunds will be given after final payment.

Dive accident insurance is required for all divers on this trip. We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your vacation investment. Contact us if you need more information.

Upon arrival at La Paz (LAP) airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Hotel Catedral where you will check in and have the evening to relax with a group dinner planned at a local restaurant.

5 days of 3-tank boat dives

We will do 1 bonfire style night dive with mobula rays. Sit on the bottom of the ocean floor and watch mobula rays soar above your head. Flashlights required.

On our off-gassing day we will have any opportunity to walk around the city of La Paz. The city offers street food tours, grafitti tours, ocean themed sculptures, and historic tours. You may also choose to spend the day at the beach. Choose your own adventure!
